A pleasurable afternoon

This touring guide is a booklet put together by Ben because of his special love for Big Bay and the Huron Mountains. It includes directions to scenic areas along with area maps and interesting stories concerning the history of Big Bay and it's people.
We're happy you've chosen this area to visit and we'll do our best to make your stay enjoyable. We offer our hospitality and the many sights, sounds and recreational facilities in the area.  If you enjoy hiking, boating, camping, swimming, hunting, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling or just watching the waves and listening to the wind - you've come to the right place.
You'll find that quiet contemplation in the sepulchral silence of an ageless forest can restore one's soul. The sudden rise of a brook trout, the solid strike of a pike, the smell of wood smoke and coffee. The forests are awe inspiring especially in fall when they erupt in spectacular colors.  Winter trails can can be humbling in their deafening silence as you view the white land locked tight as a drum.
Deer move like shadows through the trees. Partridge explode beneath your feet. An Eagle circles high overhead. The wind comes clean and fresh across the expanse of the "Big Lake." It sighs contentedly through the majestic pines. Come on Along, enjoy the land the way it was created. All this is a part of Big Bay and the Huron Mountains.
Kick off your shoes! Relax!  We're glad you came.
